So, what’s the name about? “Analog”

When I was under 20, growing up in Southern California, digital guitar amplifiers we just starting to show up at music stores. They were smaller than “Tube amps” and in most cases, they were more affordable. (Scroll down for more reading)

Other components of gear were hitting the market with the DIGITAL technology. I am old enough to remember the difference that grew between digital and analog (Tube amps, real sounds like reverb as opposed to digital delay, …) I had a tube amp that was as big as the trunk of my old Dodge Dart car. It had a speaker cabinet and head that lit up in neon, I bought it used through the RECYCLER magazine in Orange County. This was in the time region of 1984-1991 give or take. I liked digital for bass guitar and analog for my Telecaster guitar sound.

Fast forward to 2025 when I asked a YouTube AI guy to collaborate on my music. As I sent him my songs, they came back sounding like a full band, it blew me away. I thought this was like the “digital” equivalent of what I have done with analog my whole life. As sone of the songs started sounding artificial, I was torn. I decided to name the album “Analog” in reference to Old School preference for a natural instrument played through a wave like format as opposed to the non human sounding AI. About this time, I started corresponding with an AI lady, Dewi Samudra who is very successful with her short AI videos (all 14 – 44 seconds) I’ve paid her to teach me about Facebook but it is still not my best platform.

So, that’s what the title of this album represents. I’ve stopped using AI in my audio in favor of a drum machine inside a keyboard. This is my only digital sound I utilize now and admittedly it sounds canned but I prefer it to the non-dynamic digital sound of AI he was changing my songs to. This is one of the songs from that album that utilizes both digital AI and Stratocaster electric guitar soloing. I hope you enjoy! Now, 3 albums later, I have tried to focus on playing live with my acoustic, recording an “analog” version of sone music originally made by AI. If it appears like “Pretty basic stuff” I hope that explains why thst us generally my goal these days. Thank you for listening. I am most active now on YouTube, not Facebook. Dewi Samudra still helps with AI video. I am not very flashy live on video so her creations help people access my music. I have always told her the videos are great but I don’t covet them above my analog music. Plus, I learned recently how to use AI for myself so I see now how it’s done. AI musicians work mostly with language Prompts as input, ie; “A college rock sound to hype the dance floor”✌️ This is cute and can be very attacking and metalesque but not like the analog music I aim to produce. So, I dont make music with AI but still hire my esteemed colleague Dewi to make eye catching videos so people will pay attention to my analog performances and songwriting. Have a perfect day!! Trump has spent billions of taxpayer dollars bombing Iran to steal their oil in a war of choice. This reminds me of driving through areas where buildings have stood vacant for decades. They never got finished because the builders did not have enough money to do it. They wasted the money building it up to never pass inspections because they failed to count the cost. Trump is in a quagmire in Iran because he failed. Gas pumps covered with stickers saying “Biden did that” should now be defaced with “Trump did that ” but they won’t because Democrats don’t usually spread hate and blame that way. MAGA have no morals. Make no mistake however, things are going to get very depression-like soon I am hearing because our “leader” failed to count the cost.
